Prisma Media Partners with Wibbitz to Power Mobile Video for its Websites and New App

The premium publishing group uses text-to-video technology to create videos at scale for its 20 popular brands and mobile app, Infonity

NEW YORK, June 23, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Wibbitz, the leading automated video creation platform for publishers, has partnered with Prisma Media, the largest magazine publisher in France. Prisma Media has selected Wibbitz as its key video partner for the publisher’s new app, Infonity, which features curated content from all of Prisma Media’s 20 brands including Voici, Capital, National Geographic, Gala, and Harvard Business Review France. Each brand will also utilize Wibbitz’s platform, the Control Room, to create video for their website and social media channels.

Prisma Media chose Wibbitz as its primary video solution for Infonity due to the large scale of premium video production required for the app. Infonity offers two important elements to meet the demands of its digital audience: personalized content recommendations, and three options to consume every story—text, audio, and video. Prisma will use Wibbitz to create over 80% of those videos, enabled by Wibbitz’s unique text-to-video technology which automatically produces video from text content in seconds. At the launch of Infonity, Prisma created over 500 videos a month by only two team members using the Wibbitz platform. The team plans to increase that number significantly over the next few months, supported by Wibbitz.

“Video was always a major part of our vision for Infonity, and we knew we needed to produce a huge number of high-quality videos while still maintaining the integrity of the content,” says Gilles Tanguy, Chief Editor at Capital and member of Infonity’s editorial team. “Wibbitz has been extremely responsive and proactive as a partner to help us successfully launch Infonity. It’s rare that a tech company works so diligently to understand a customer's needs and to be able to respond as quickly and accurately as they have, particularly a technology company not native to France.”

In addition to creating mobile video for Infonity, most brands under the Prisma Media umbrella will implement Wibbitz for their owned-and-operated channels. Voici.fr, one of the first publications to start publishing Wibbitz-created videos to their site, is already receiving over 8,000 views per video, with an average total of one million video views each month on the site alone. They have achieved this success with only two team members producing video with the platform. As more brands begin implementing Wibbitz, many will give their entire newsroom access to create video.

“Prisma Media is a leader in innovation within the French media industry, and we’re honored to be a key partner for Infonity. Mobile video is in huge demand, so this partnership enables Prisma Media to scale mobile video production using their existing resources,” said Zohar Dayan, Co-founder and CEO of Wibbitz. “Prisma Media’s 20 premium brands will greatly benefit from increasing the amount of videos they publish on-site and on social with little extra effort.”

Prisma Media joins Wibbitz’s existing network of over 150 international publishing brands, including Hearst, USA TODAY Sports, and Bonnier. Videos created by Wibbitz’s partners receive over 200 million views each month on their websites alone. On average, Wibbitz’s partners see a 60% increase in video views and a 90% increase in published videos each month.
