ROCKVILLE, Md., June 30, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Today, the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS) announced that 219 regulatory professionals attained Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC) during the spring 2016 exam cycle.

Earned by passing one of four exams, the RAC is the only professional credential for regulatory professionals in the healthcare product sector. It must be maintained through continuous learning and professional development, and recertified every three years. Currently, there are more than 4,000 RAC-credentialed professionals around the world.

A complete list of the 219 professionals who achieved the RAC in spring 2016 is online at http://www.raps.org/Regulatory-Focus/RAPS-Latest/2016/06/30/25249/219-Earned-Regulatory-Affairs-Certification-RAC-Credential-in-Spring-2016.

The four different RAC certifications available are: the RAC (US) covering US regulations, the RAC (EU) covering European regulations, the RAC (CAN) covering Canadian regulations and the RAC (Global), which covers general regulatory responsibilities and international standards. RAC exams and the criteria for maintaining the credential are developed, managed and administered by the Regulatory Affairs Certification Board (RACB) with support from RAPS.

The next RAC exam period will be this autumn during October and November. Registration is now open for each of the four exams, and the deadline to apply is 1 September. Exams are administered at dozens of locations across globe. For more information, visit www.RAPS.org/rac.
