Rainbow Veterinary Hospital Offers Summer Pet Boarding Special

BURBANK, Calif., July 24, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Finding a comfortable home away from home for pets can be difficult when preparing to go on vacation. However, Burbank animal clinic -- Rainbow Veterinary Hospital located at 2321 West Empire Avenue -- is offering a promotion to make professional boarding a more affordable choice.

From now through September 15, 2016, clients of Rainbow Veterinary Hospital receive one free night of boarding per six-night stay for furry family members. This promotion is in addition to their ongoing offers, which include a free bath for any pet that boards for five nights, a 10% discount on pets who board for 21 days, and a 15% discount for furry ones boarding for 30 days.

Depending on pet size and whether administration of medication is necessary, boarding fees for dogs range from $20 to $45 per night.  For instance, the cost is $20 for cats and an extra $10 a day if they need oral medication but diabetics are a higher fee.

"We want to meet some new furry friends this summer and help owners enjoy a vacation free of worry about their pets," Dr. Timothy Metzger, veterinarian, adds. "We keep pets safe, healthy and active."

Pet owners do not have to be current clients of the hospital to qualify for the special. However, pets must be up to date on vaccinations. They also have to be free of fleas and other parasites.

Dogs need a record of vaccination for rabies, DHPP (distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza and parvovirus), Bordetella bronchiseptica (kennel cough), tick-borne Lyme disease and rattlesnake bites.

Cats need shots for rabies, FVRCP (a group of feline distemper viruses affecting respiratory and gastrointestinal health) and FeLV (feline leukemia).

The hospital keeps dogs and cats in separate areas and dogs receive daily walks. The boarding fee includes two meals daily. But Rainbow Veterinary Hospital staff will also serve what owners provide if their pets need special diets or prefer particular foods.

"Boarding at an animal hospital ensures rapid access to veterinary care when necessary," Dr. Metzger emphasizes. Clients can pick up their pets within the hospital's regular hours, which are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Rainbow Veterinary Hospital’s head receptionist, Shoni Montgomery, suggests making reservations soon, as the clinic expects to fill its boarding schedule quickly due to the special. When scheduling a reservation, inform the clinic of any medical conditions that your pet may have, such as diabetes, which may be subject to hospitalized boarding fees.

Rainbow Veterinary Hospital is a full service clinic providing care ranging from wellness exams to surgeries. Extra services that the hospital can arrange during boarding include dental cleaning along with any needed surgery, medical care, or problem that the client is worried about.  For more information call (818) 846-1166, or visit the veterinary hospital online at http://rainbowvethospital.com/.
