ROC-Connect Announces Partnership with DSP Group, Offering a Cloud Managed Environment for IoT Applications

The partnership brings new capabilities to the range of ULE powered smart home devices

BERLIN, Sept. 02, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ROC-Connect, the leading smart home services platform, announces its partnership with DSP Group, a leading global provider of wireless chipset solutions for converged communications. As part of the partnership, ROC-Connect now offers its channel partners Ultra Low Energy (ULE) chipsets in its smart home hubs to support the growing range of ULE powered smart home devices.

The ULE wireless chipsets are ideally suited to support the new wave of consumer IoT devices and offers longer range, interference-free RF bandwidth, enhanced security and natural support in two-way voice.

“We are excited by the opportunity to offer ULE to our channel partners,” said Marcus Scheiber, CEO of ROC-Connect. “ULE is ideal for smart home applications because of its low power consumption, long range, and its ability to transmit both voice and video. These are important benefits when smart home devices need to be battery powered.”

Analysts are forecasting huge growth in the IoT and smart home market, and ROC-Connect now offers ULE to companies wanting to deploy smart home solutions to their customer base. ROC-Connect will be offering its retail, insurance and service provider partners ULE as an option in its smart home solutions in beginning Q4 of 2016.

“We are delighted that ROC-Connect has chosen adding ULE as an option in its new smart home hubs,” said Jan Abelev, Corporate Vice President, Product Marketing at DSP Group. “We believe ULE will play an important role in many consumer applications in the global smart home market and our partnership will bring this capability into the home.”

The two companies will be showcasing their new DECT ULE smart home solutions at IFA in Berlin this week, and at the Broadband World Forum in London in October. The demonstrations will showcase the benefits of DECT ULE technology for smart home applications. The smart home will include smart lights, doors and locks using DECT ULE technology.
