Sunrun Appoints Anne Hoskins As Chief Policy Officer

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 07, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sunrun Inc. (Nasdaq:RUN), the largest dedicated residential solar company in the United States, announced today that former Maryland Public Service Commissioner Anne Hoskins is joining Sunrun as Chief Policy Officer.

“Sunrun is a leader in helping consumers choose clean, affordable power," Hoskins said. "With our world facing a critical need for lower carbon, sustainable energy, I am thrilled to be joining a company with the vision to ‘create a planet run by the sun.' I look forward to applying my experience as a regulator and advocate to work with policymakers, utilities and other stakeholders to empower customers to make smart, clean, and affordable energy choices."

Hoskins served on the Maryland Public Service Commission from September 2013 through July 2016. During her service, she adjudicated major merger and rate cases, service quality and consumer protection proceedings, and participated in rulemakings involving community solar, grid reliability and competitive retail supply. Anne served as a member of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) Board of Directors, as Chair of the NARUC International Relations Committee and as a board member of the Organization of PJM States (OPSI).

Previously, Hoskins led federal and state advocacy for Public Service Enterprise Group Incorporated and served as a Visiting Research Scholar at Princeton University’s Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment. While at Princeton, she conducted research on the valuation of distributed energy and continues to be a thought leader on this critical policy issue. Prior to that, Hoskins served as Senior Regulatory Counsel for Verizon Wireless, an attorney in private practice, and a policy advisor to the Governor of New Jersey. She is a graduate of Harvard Law School, the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton, and Cornell University.

"Throughout her career, Anne has tackled complex regulatory challenges and found pathways for consumers to benefit from new technology," said Sunrun Chairman Edward Fenster. "With Anne leading our policy efforts, Sunrun will continue to expand access to consumer choice and deploy local solar energy that modernizes our grid and benefits all grid users."

Hoskins will join Sunrun's executive team and report to Fenster.
