MASS Communications Named to Crain’s New York Business’s 2016 100 Best Places to Work for in New York City

Tech Firm Recognized for Second Straight Year for Engaged, Employee-driven Culture

NEW YORK, Sept. 28, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MASS Communications announced today the company’s selection to Crain’s 2016 100 Best Places to Work in New York City for the second year in a row.

The prestigious award from Crain’s New York Business recognizes companies with the most engaged employee workforces. Crain’s works with Best Companies Group, an outside independent research company, to administer the study’s employee engagement surveys, which account for 75% of the ranking calculation.

Crain’s New York Business annual rankings are the gold standard for identifying the best employers in the most populous city in the country as well as a financial and cultural arts powerhouse.

“We are honored to be recognized as one of the best places to work by our employees, who are the heart of our company and the driving force of our success as a telecom infrastructure leader,” says Darren Mass, CEO of MASS Communications.  “The fact that three-quarters of this survey is focused on employees’ work experiences reflects well on our values as a company – we believe that when people grow, the business grows.”

Jill Kaplan, publisher of Crain’s New York Business, says the study, now in its ninth year, attracted “a record number of applications representing a wide array of industries throughout the five boroughs.”

MASS Communications, a leading connectivity and telecom management provider headquartered in the heart of Wall Street in Manhattan, has built a reputation for innovation and customer service. The company, which has enjoyed 122% growth over the last three years, designs highly resilient voice and data networks, and provides simplified one-stop monitoring and support for their clients.

Marc Gold, Chief Operating Officer, notes that MASS Communications had 100% participation in the employee survey. “We designed our corporate culture around our most important asset, our people,” he says, explaining that a unique benefit employees enjoy is 100% coverage of healthcare for their entire family.  The company also offers training, certification, and education programs to accelerate employees’ career goals.

“When our people feel valued and taken care of, they are ready and willing to go above and beyond for our customers and partners,” says David L. Schwed, General Counsel and CIO.

Over its nine-year history, MASS Communications has reported perfect employee retention levels in an industry known for employee churn issues and poor customer service.  MASS Communications’ management team credits their high satisfaction levels and loyalty to a culture that fosters accountability and rewards employees for doing their jobs well by serving customers.

“Every employee, regardless of their role, takes pride in knowing each client personally and will do whatever they can to make their lives easier,” Gold says.

Crain’s two-part survey process consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. The second part examined employee survey data to measure the employee experience. The combined scores, weighted at 25% and 75% respectively, determined the top companies and the final ranking.

In addition to the Crain’s list, MASS Communications also is a four-time winner of the Inc. 500|5000 list of America’s fastest-growing firms and was recognized with the SmartCEO Executive Management Award, Future 50 Award and the Corporate Culture Award for 2015.

Crain’s will honor MASS Communications and other winners at an awards luncheon on December 2, 2016.  For more information on the Best Places to Work in New York City program, visit www.BestPlacesToWorkNYC.com.
