Dr. Thomas G. Reddy Wins the Major General Bill B. Lefler Federal Services Award from the American College of Prosthodontists


CHICAGO, Oct. 19, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Thomas G. Reddy, BS, DDS, was honored with the Major General Bill B. Lefler Federal Services Award for excellence in leadership, patient care, mentorship, and service by the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP). Dr. Reddy was honored at the Annual Awards & President's Dinner during the 46th Annual Session of the ACP held in San Diego from Oct. 5-8, 2016.

Dr. Reddy graduated with honors from Georgetown University School of Dentistry and went on to serve in the U.S. Army Dental Corps for 24 years. During his military career, Dr. Reddy primarily served in educational, senior staff, and command positions, and attended both the U.S. Army Command & General Staff College (Honor Graduate) and the U.S. Army War College. He also directed the postgraduate residency program in Fixed Prosthodontics at Letterman Army Medical Center. His final assignment was as Director of Dental Services for the U.S. Army Health Services Command. Most recently, Dr. Reddy served as the Vice President of Professional Relations for Nobel Biocare.

General Lefler and his family have played a major role in both my professional and personal life over the past 48 years and I can think of no greater honor than to be recognized for an award bearing his name," said Dr. Reddy.

He has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics since 1974, and he maintains memberships in the American Dental Association, the American College of Prosthodontists, the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, Omicron Kappa Upsilon, and the American Dental Education Association.

His personal awards include: Distinguished Member of the Regiment, The Surgeon General's "A" Professional Designator, Legion of Merit (1 Oak Leaf Cluster), Meritorious Service Medal (2 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (2 Oak Leaf Clusters), National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Expert Field Medical Badge and the Order of Military Medical Merit.
