Sensoria Announces Availability of New Smart Upper Body Garments for Comfortable and Stylish Heart Rate Monitoring

Now shipping pre-orders of its newly designed line of colorful, smart t-shirts and sports bras

REDMOND, Wash., Dec. 14, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sensoria, a leader in wearable fitness and smart garment technology, announces today the availability and shipping of pre-orders to backers of its crowdfunding campaign for its new line of smart upper body garments. The new garments, which include a new medium support sports bra for women and a new short sleeve t-shirt for men, are designed to meet the needs of all levels of fitness enthusiasts. The Bluetooth and ANT+ compatible heart rate monitor snaps to the new garments and makes it easy to stay in the desired heart rate zone, and monitor calories burned. The new garments connect seamlessly to the Sensoria Run 2.0 mobile iPhone app which now includes a beta of the Heart Sentinel algorithm, developed by cardiologists at University of Parma in Italy to alert emergency contacts in case of sudden cardiac arrest.

“With the holidays on us and the new year resolution period in sight, we are excited that Sensoria’s new garments are shipping as planned, just in time for fitness enthusiasts to get their gifts before Christmas,” said Davide Vigano, CEO and co-founder of Sensoria. “Combined with the new Sensoria Run 2.0 app and the Sensoria smart socks, this is the perfect system for distance runners who want real-time actionable feedback from head to toe. Our smart upper garments make it easy to stay within your selected heart rate zone, while our smart socks compare shoes, detect cadence, foot landing and impact forces.”

Sensoria’s new heart rate monitoring garments come in red and blue and are designed to prevent the cumbersome slipping and chaffing that can occur with traditional HRM chest straps. Each Sensoria garment is made with Emana yarn, the technically advanced and durable fabric that leverages far infrared technology. Along with keeping the wearer dry, comfortable and protected from the sun’s harmful UV rays, Emana yarn sweat wicking capabilities maintain body temperature constant in all climates.

The new smart upper body garments work in conjunction with the current Sensoria Fitness app, the new Sensoria Run v2.0 Beta app and Sensoria Web Dashboard v2.0 Beta. The app, which is now available in beta as a free download for iOS devices, works with Sensoria’s smart garments to provide real-time audio and visual feedback via Sensoria’s Artificial Intelligence Coach, Mara. During a run, Mara informs users when they should run, exercise or rest during the week to achieve a specific goal. The new app comes with three months of free training plans, allowing users to set short and long term goals, monitor progress over time and receive real-time actionable feedback.

In addition to the new app and garments, the Sensoria Web Dashboard v2.0 Beta is also upgraded to offer consumers easier access to actionable information from their running sessions. The dashboard features a virtual shoe closet which collects data from Sensoria’s smart socks to better understand performance based on the athlete’s running shoes and alerts users when it’s time to invest in a new pair. The dashboard also awards runners with new badges based on their achievements, motivating users to improve and get to the next level.

The new Sensoria sports bra and t-shirt are offered at a promotional holiday price of $49 and $69 respectively, and in a bundle including the Sensoria HRM module, are available for $99.00 each.

Each garment can be used with the current Sensoria Fitness and Sensoria Walk apps for iOS and Android. In addition, the new garments also work with several HRM Bluetooth devices and fitness apps, including Polar H7 and Garmin Premium, Strava, Endomondo, PolarBeat and MapMyRun.

The complete Sensoria Running System is available at a special holiday price of $379.00 for both men and women. To learn more about the new line of smart garments, visit http://store.sensoriafitness.com/.
