AMOEBA announces update of the regulatory calendar in the United States of America

Lyon, 27th December 2016 - AMOEBA (FR0011051598 - AMEBA), the producer of a biological biocide capable of eliminating the risk of waterborne bacteria, announces today that BIOMEBA registration needed for the marketing on US territory is deferred.

The registration dossier submitted to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has needed a complementary study to be performed by AMOEBA, resulting in the Company becoming required to re-file the dossier. This study has been positively completed and will match EPA request. As the instruction time is estimated at 18 months, the Company considers that the BIOMEBA may be registered in the second half of 2018.

This new application however allows the Company to expand the possible applications of BIOMEBA in the USA, in non-food crop irrigation and aquaculture, which market is estimated at 200 million euros that will complement the 510 million euros of global cooling tower market.

Lastly, the company is exploring the feasibility to charge services in the USA within a R&D framework in cooling tower application from the second quarter of 2017, which was not initially planned.

"This new application does not impact the company as we did not plan industrial production capacities in North America before 2018 through the production units in Canada", stated Fabrice PLASSON, President of AMOEBA's Board of Directors.
