Lever Names Mike Bailen Vice President, People

Recruiting Veteran Will Lead Lever’s Overall Talent and Employee Experience Teams and Strategy

SAN FRANCISCO, March 08, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --  Lever, the recruiting software for more than 1,200 fast-growing companies around the world, has named Mike Bailen its first Vice President, People. A recruiting industry veteran, Bailen will oversee Lever’s recruiting and employee experience teams with a focus on finding, attracting, developing, and retaining talent.

Bailen first met Lever while leading recruiting efforts for Eventbrite, where he drove the selection and implementation of Lever as the company’s primary recruiting platform. During his tenure at Eventbrite, Bailen overhauled the company’s recruitment practices across recruitment marketing, employer branding, candidate experience, and hiring manager and interviewer training. Bailen previously held multiple recruiting and HR roles at Zappos, where he led the company’s innovative decision to remove all job postings in favor of building a talent community among their passionate user base.

“Mike has an incredible track record as an innovator in the talent space, having worked for Zappos and Eventbrite, companies known for their creative approaches and unyielding commitment to hiring the best people,” said Sarah Nahm, CEO of Lever. “What’s more, Mike shares Lever’s dedication to caring for and nurturing employees. I am confident the combination of Mike’s experience and worldview will be instrumental in guiding Lever through our next phase of growth.”

In 2015, Bailen was named to LinkedIn’s “Next Wave” list, which recognizes the top professionals under 35 across different industries. Bailen often speaks on HR and recruiting topics, and has presented at multiple industry conferences including LinkedIn Talent Connect, the Australasian Talent Conference, and Lever’s own Talent Innovation Summit.

“Throughout my career I’ve seen that culture is critical, not only to finding and retaining talent, but also to a company’s overall success,” said Bailen. “Lever’s culture, which encourages feedback, champions cross-functional empathy, inspires collaboration and values the contribution of each and every employee, attracts the best and the brightest. Having also seen firsthand the role that Lever plays in powering a proactive talent strategy for their customers, I am honored to be a part of this team.”

Named to RecruitingDaily’s list of the top 10 HR Technology and Recruiting Tools in both 2015 and 2016, Lever’s suite of talent acquisition products helps companies of all sizes prepare for the future of employment. With an overall gender ratio of 50:50, Lever is also fiercely committed to providing its team with a culture that celebrates diversity and inclusion.
