Suominen Corporation to support the cooperative initiative of Women’s Bank in Cambodia

Suominen Corporation and Women’s Bank have agreed on cooperation that includes a one-time donation to a cooperative initiative of Women’s Bank in Cambodia. Cooperation for Women’s Economic Development is a project that strengthens the vitality of 17 agricultural cooperatives in total, through which the social and economic position of local women improves.

The initiative is a continuation of the four-year Women: Hope and Growth project. During the project, in total 24 agricultural cooperatives, led by females, were founded in four provinces.

Women’s Bank is a network of Finnish volunteers that works to finance female entrepreneurship and livelihood through donations and in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. The network arranges a multitude of events, activities and fundraisings.

During its ten year of operations, Women’s Bank has raised over EUR 10 million of funds. The network includes more than 3,000 volunteers. The initiatives have reached 14 countries, and 30,000 people have directly benefited of the initiatives. Indirectly, the number of people impacted is over 150,000.
