Associa Hosts 2017 Florida Legislative Update Webinar

The session will focus on bills the Florida legislature passed to provide increased access to information via the web for condo residents, new penalties for condo board members that ignore their responsibilities or break the law, and a fee cap on disclosure information for prospective buyers in community associations.

John Krueger

Mr. Krueger’s responsible for strengthening relationships with state and national legislators and ensuring that Associa and its clients are represented during legislative debate to ensure a legal and regulatory framework that cultivates vibrant community associations and a thriving management industry.

Mr. Krueger previously served as the senior vice president of public policy for the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and as a corporate lobbyist as well as a professional staff member for state and federal legislators.

He has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio.

Mark Blackburn
President, Marquis Management - Associa Company

Mr. Blackburn is the co-founder of CSI Management Services (now Marquis Management) and has been the president since 2004. Since then the firm has grown to become recognized as the leader in luxury condominium property management in South Florida. He is also the co-founder and co-publisher of South Florida Opulence Magazine, the award-winning luxury condominium lifestyle publication.

Blackburn attended Rhode Island College to study political science and marketing. He has been a guest lecturer at the Lynn University School of Marketing in Boca Raton, Florida.

Joshua Tomey

He currently oversees the branch’s operations in Miami and provides oversight and support for training, corporate finance, business development and public relations.

Ryan D. Poliakoff
Partner - Backer Aboud Poliakoff and Foelster, LLP

Mr. Poliakoff serves as general corporate counsel to condominium associations, homeowner’s associations, master associations and country clubs.  He has extensive experience drafting documents and covenants, reviewing and drafting contracts, preparing indemnification agreements and settlement agreements, coordinating developer turnovers, and pursuing covenant enforcement actions as well as running elections and corporate meetings.

Mr. Poliakoff earned his B.S. in Communications from Cornell University and J.D from Cornell Law School.
