Evanston-Based Fara Commercial Brokerage Merges Operations Into @properties Commercial

@properties, Chicago’s leading brokerage firm, eyes commercial growth in key north-suburban market with merger

Chicago, June 27, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Chicago-based @properties recently announced that Evanston-based Fara Commercial Brokerage has merged its operations into @properties Commercial. @properties co-founders, Mike Golden and Thad Wong, along with Fara Commercial Brokerage President, Edward Schwartz, and Consulting Principal, John Consalvi, made the announcement.

The merger gives @properties Commercial increased brand presence and market share in Chicago’s northern suburbs, including Evanston, Skokie and the North Shore. Meanwhile, Schwartz says that Fara will benefit from @properties’ award-winning marketing programs and industry-leading technology. Fara Commercial Group will now be a sub-brand within @properties Commercial, and will continue to work out of its existing office at 1740 Ridge Ave., in Evanston.

“The northern suburbs are a strong but under-served commercial market. We see this merger as a great opportunity to better serve tenants, landlords, owner/operators and investors,” said Dan Stratis, Vice President and Managing Broker for @properties Commercial.

“As our business continues to grow, we recognize the need for innovative tools and resources that will give our clients a competitive advantage and attract top talent to our brokerage team. With @properties, we gain the infrastructure of Chicago’s #1 real estate firm while still maintaining a boutique, independent feel,” said Schwartz.

Established in 2011 by Schwartz and Consalvi, Fara Commercial Group provides commercial real estate sales, leasing, business advisory and consulting services on Chicago’s North Shore and in surrounding communities. Recent transactions include:

  • A lease for 2,380 square feet of office space at 847 Chicago Ave., in Evanston, a Class A, LEED-certified, mixed-use building inclusive of retail, office and apartments. Fara represented the building owner.
  • The $1,275,000 sale of 1611 Church St., a 12,990-square-foot industrial building in Evanston. Fara represented the building owner.
  • A lease for 3,900 square feet of industrial space at 1310 Sherman Ave. in Evanston. Fara represented the building owner.
