Poonam Mohan Promoted to American Airlines Vice President

Mohan will serve as American’s Vice President – Information Technology


FORT WORTH, Texas, June 27, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- American Airlines today announced that Poonam Mohan has been promoted to Vice President – Information Technology. This position was previously held by Patrick O’Keeffe, who was named American’s Senior Vice President – People, in May 2017.

“With projects such as implementing critical new forecasting models and pricing tools for Revenue Management, and the first International Premium Economy product among U.S. carriers, Poonam has a proven track record for meticulous planning and delivering tremendous results,” said Maya Leibman, American’s Chief Information Officer. “Poonam is a strong leader who asks insightful questions that quickly get to the heart of the matter. She is well known for creating strong relationships and is passionate about technology and how it can be used to enhance the customer and team member experience. In addition to American’s critical effort to integrate its Human Resources and Payroll systems, Mohan will oversee the airline’s vital Passenger Service (Reservations) System, which is the backbone of the customer experience. She will also oversee technical delivery of programs for Revenue Management, Network Planning, Revenue Accounting, Finance, American’s three wholly owned regional carriers and alliance and joint business partners, and the airline’s Operations Research team, which designs mission-critical decision and optimization tools.

Mohan joined American in 2002 in Marketing. In her 15 years with the company, she has held leadership positions in business technology, applications development, and revenue and planning technology. Most recently she has served as Managing Director – Flight Operations & Crew Technology, overseeing the planning and development of American’s most important crew integration programs. Mohan holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Allahabad, and received an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
