No Greater Love Music Festival Welcomes Country Superstar Reba McEntire

Canada’s largest faith-based music festival welcomes country superstar as their August 12 headliner

CALGARY, Alberta, July 20, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Canada’s largest faith-based Christian music festival, No Greater Love (NGL), is excited to announce its Saturday evening headliner is country superstar Reba McEntire. The festival will take place August 12 – 13 at the Chief Goodstoney Rodeo Lands on the Stoney Nakoda Nation, located 40 minutes west of Calgary.

Reba has achieved a rare pinnacle with 35 No. 1 singles and more than 56 million albums sold worldwide. The Country Music Hall of Fame and Hollywood Bowl member has won 15 American Music Awards, 14 ACM Awards, 9 People’s Choice Awards, 7 CMA Awards and 2 Grammy Awards, in addition to an ACM Career Achievement Honor and 50th Anniversary Milestone Award for the Most Awarded ACM Female Vocalist of the Year, as well as the first-ever American Country Countdown NASH Icon Award and a National Artistic Achievement Award from the U.S. Congress. The Grand Ole Opry member has also received the Andrea Bocelli Foundation Humanitarian Award and Leadership Music Dale Franklin Award. During her 2011 All The Women I Am Tour, Pollstar and Billboard’s Boxscore named Reba the #1 female Country touring artist with a combined total of over 9 million tickets sold in her career.

Reba’s No Greater Love festival appearance is her first visit to the Calgary area since her performance during the 2014 Calgary Stampede.

“Having a major international artist headline a faith-based music festival is unique and as far as we know, has never been done before,” says Executive Producer Karri Ward. “We are thrilled to have Reba perform at this year’s festival.”

In February 2017, McEntire released her latest album, Sing It Now: Songs of Faith and Hope, as a two-disc collection of 20 songs, including 10 classic hymns and 10 contemporary spiritual songs. The powerful single Back to God topped the Billboard Country and Christian/Gospel charts, making it her 13th number one hit.

Also confirmed for this year’s NGL lineup are the talents of For King and Country, Building 429, Jamie Grace, Hawk Nelson, and more. The festival, which debuted to 5,000 concert-goers in 2016, featured Christian music greats Michael W. Smith, Switchfoot, and Tenth Avenue North last year.

No Greater Love is unlike any other music festival in the world thanks to its collaborative spirit and stunning Rocky Mountain backdrop. In a unique relationship with the Stoney Nakoda first nations community, the festival takes place on their Nation, in a jaw-dropping meadow space featured in films such as Legends of the FallThe Revenant and Shanghai Noon.

Attendees can enjoy family and youth zones, including a skateboard park, a “Kids’ Kingdom” featuring sports, slides, and kids’ activities, a vendor alley showcasing local artisans, an area highlighting First Nations culture, food truck village and more.

“The festival features music that is Christian faith-based, but we are truly non-denominational. Our team created this event based on unity of faith, family, and community, and we can’t think of a better way to accomplish that than through a beautiful setting with incredible music,” added Ward.

Weekend passes are currently on sale for $150, day passes are $99, and ample family-friendly camping onsite is available.
