The loss of a builder’s builder

SAN FRANCISCO, July 25, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- With profound sadness and gratitude, Swinerton remembers and recognizes Tony Williamson, who passed away in a traffic accident on Saturday, July 22.

Tony joined the Northern California Swinerton team in June of 1983 as a union carpenter and advanced quickly to become one of our finest superintendents, demonstrating his skill and leadership on numerous projects, including the Westfield Center, the Gap Headquarters at 250 Embarcadero, and Trinity Properties to name just a few. In November 2006 he was promoted to Field Operations Manager in recognition of his talent and dedication to developing the next generations of field supervision, and on July 1 of this year he was again promoted, this time to the role of Division Manager for the Swinerton Northern California Self-Perform group.

Tony was a true Master Builder and a consummate construction professional who took his job seriously and always with great humility. His skill for problem solving and gift of helping others to develop their strengths will be sorely missed throughout the industry. We have all lost a remarkable builder, mentor, gentleman, and friend. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Tony’s family members, friends, union family, and industry colleagues. We were all very fortunate to have him as a part of our lives.

The family is planning a celebration of Tony’s life in the coming weeks and more information will be shared when available. Condolences may be directed to Swinerton Human Resources who will be accepting them on behalf of the family.
