ENT and Allergy Associates, LLP’s Adds Strength, Depth and Breadth To its Coming East Brunswick, NJ Office

Nation’s Largest Otolaryngology Specialty and Sub-specialty Practice Welcomes Allergist/Immunologist Sara Axelrod to its Ranks

Tarrytown, NY, Sept. 11, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tarrytown, NY-September 11, 2017:  East Brunswick, NJ is home to an Olympic gold medalist, a Pulitzer Prize winner, and several noted actors and athletes. And, as recently announced, on  October 1, 2017 this suburban community-located approximately 30 miles from NYC and 50 miles from Philadelphia-will also become home to the newest state-of-the-art clinical site of ENT and Allergy Associates (ENTA), the leading ear, nose, throat, allergy and audiology specialty and sub-specialty practice in the nation.

The office, located at B3 Cornwall Drive East Brunswick, NJ 08816, will offer the superb services of veteran otolaryngologists Dr. Steven Sabin, MD and Dr. Bruce Edelman, MD, who have been successfully meeting the needs of adults and children in neighborhoods surrounding East Brunswick for many years.  And, to ensure that these local residents receive more of the comprehensive care they deserve, today ENTA proudly announced that veteran allergist/immunologist Sara Axelrod, MD, will be joining the East Brunswick team on December 1, 2017. Dr. Axelrod will become the newest of ENTA’s 190+ board certified clinicians serving patients in the Practice’s 42 sites throughout New York and New Jersey.

Dr. Axelrod has spent the past five years serving patients in Brick, NJ, where she also served as a sub-investigator for the Ocean Allergy & Respiratory Research Center. She resides in nearby Monmouth County with her husband and two sons.

Dr. Axelrod completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, where she also earned her Master’s in Public Health, with a focus on Genetic Epidemiology.  She then received her medical degree at George Washington University’s School of Medicine and Health Science, served her clinical residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and completed her fellowship training in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at Winthrop University Hospital.

Dr. Axelrod’s professional interests are broad and deep.  Over the years she has served at the National Institutes of Health-National Cancer Institute, the National Academy of Science and the Henry Ford Health System, and volunteered at the Disaster Relief Initiative in Belize, Central America.

Her professional associations, memberships and accolades are equally wide-ranging.  She has either been, or currently is, a member of the ACAAI/AAAAI, the UMDNJ Nominating Committee, the American College of Physicians, the American Public Health Association and the Beaumont Research Society.  Dr. Axelrod has also been extensively published in journals including the JACI, The Annals of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and the Mount Sinai Journal of Medicine, and authored a chapter in Challenging Cases in Allergy and Immunology as well as Atopic Dermatitis.

As a member of ENTA’s East Brunswick office, Dr. Axelrod will be seeing adult and pediatric patients in need of her expertise.  And, as the mother of two young sons, one of whom suffers from food allergies, she is well aware of the similar challenges faced by so many of her patients, both adult and pediatric.

The physicians who will practice with her in East Brunswick were effusive in their praise.  “Sara Axelrod is a doctor who lives in the community, has kids who go to school in the community, and truly understands and can deliver the highest level of medical care this community deserves,” noted Dr. Steven Sabin.  Added fellow East Brunswick practitioner Bruce Edelman, MD, “Sara not only comes with impeccable credentials, but has been treating local New Jerseyites for the past five years, so she understands the people as well as their medical conditions.  We couldn’t be more delighted to have her on the team.”

Peter Logalbo, MD, chair of ENTA’s Allergy Division, stated “We are always extremely selective when we evaluate both the credentials and the fit of a physician into our Practice.  Dr. Axelrod has the expertise, the experience and the caring personality that will make her an asset to her community, her office, and ENTA overall.” Added Robert Glazer, ENTA’s CEO “Our growth strategy in New Jersey is straightforward.  We seek to open clinical locations to best serve the needs of the patients who live in the surrounding communities, and populate those offices with the best and the brightest physicians possible.  It’s why we have made East Brunswick our newest state-of-the-art office, and why we are thrilled to have Dr. Axelrod as part of our medical staff.  Welcome, Sara!”

Robert Green, MD, President of ENTA, summed it up by stating, “ENTA has built its reputation by delivering on the promise of the finest physicians providing the finest medical care at the finest offices.  Dr. Axelrod has met all of our physician criteria, is extremely well regarded by those in the medical community, and is loved by the patients she has treated over the years.  She is exactly the type of practitioner we need, and our patients deserve.”
