Widen Named “Best Place to Work” for Third Consecutive Year

Madison Magazine ranks Widen among the best local companies to work for

MADISON, Wis., Sept. 22, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Widen announced today that Madison Magazine has named the digital asset management (DAM) provider a “Best Place to Work” for the third consecutive year. The award reflects Widen’s commitment to the well-being of employees, customers, partners, and the Madison community.

“Eudaimonia, the Greek word for ‘human flourishing,’ has become an ethical guide for our organization. It has helped us build a team of creative, kind-hearted people who often choose to build long-term careers with Widen,” said CEO Matthew Gonnering. “We thank Madison Magazine for this honor and congratulate the other winners.”

For three consecutive years, Widen has earned a place in Madison Magazine’s “Best Places to Work” by focusing on organizational wellness. Certified a Freedom-Centered Workplace by WorldBlu, Widen has dedicated itself to high standards of democratic organizational design and leadership. These principles have shaped Widen’s culture and unique approach to HR.

For instance, in January 2017, WorldBlu helped Widen start a 'Discover Your Purpose' program for individual employees. Through this course, employees develop their own purpose and vision statements. The goal is to create a sense of meaning and passion in one's life. Widen supports employees in pursuing their visions and integrating them into their role at Widen.

Another cornerstone of Widen culture is the company’s partnership with Community Support Network, a Madison-based nonprofit that provides coaching and mentorship for adults with developmental disabilities. Today, five percent of Widen’s team members have a developmental disability. At TEDx Madison, Gonnering called upon fellow business leaders to integrate people with developmental disabilities into their workforces and communities.

Madison Magazine’s annual Best Places to Work survey is conducted by Quantum Workplace of Omaha, Nebraska. They measure six areas of employee engagement: communications and resources, individual needs, manager effectiveness, personal engagement, team dynamics, and trust in leadership. This year’s winners represent a variety of industry sectors and range in size from 10 employees to more than 100.
