Gray Tools ‘2017 Together We Are Stronger’ campaign a success in creating awareness and raising funds for prostate cancer


BRAMPTON, Ontario, Sept. 26, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Gray Tools Canada Inc., in cooperation with Prostate Cancer Canada, is proud to announce that its “2017 Together We Are Stronger” initiative raised $4,000, which will go directly towards funding valuable research that is needed to improve the way we diagnose, treat, and support men living with the disease.

The campaign, which began on June 1, 2017 and ran until August 31, 2017, was kicked off in conjunction with Gray Tools national Summer Professional Tools Specials promotion flyer. In addition to presenting important facts on the disease, a portion of all sales generated from the flyer was collected for donation. "The generosity of our customers was excellent. Without their support the initiative wouldn’t have been a success", says Dragos Baicoianu, Brand Manager of Gray Tools.

In addition to the fundraising component, an electronic and social media communications campaign was also undertaken to help drive awareness to the importance of early detection, prevention, and treatment. Efforts were made to engage with women, who often play a critical role in the medical care of male family members.

"We decided to partner again with Prostate Cancer Canada, because unfortunately 1 in 7 Canadian men will be diagnosed with the disease during their lives. We felt Gray Tools could play an important role in increasing awareness, considering the majority of our customers are men," says Gary Nuttall, President of Gray Tools.

Just as this initiative concludes, the hope is that the awareness and communication momentum continues as September marks the beginning of National Prostate Cancer awareness month.
