YogaWorks Continues to Grow With Purchase of Virginia Yoga Studio

Acquisition Expands YogaWorks Portfolio to 53 Studios; Further Expanding East Coast Presence

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 27, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- YogaWorks, Inc. (NASDAQ:YOGA), one of the largest providers of high quality yoga instruction in the U.S., continues its expansion with today’s acquisition of Pure Prana Yoga Studio in Alexandria, Virginia. This deal marks YogaWorks’ third studio acquisition since it became a publicly traded company in August and comes on the heels of last month’s purchase of two studios in Virginia and Washington D.C.

Pure Prana, founded by Natasha Hennessy in 2003, was the first yoga studio to open in historic Old Town Alexandria and has become a very popular yoga destination for the area. Through its diverse programming, Pure Prana has served tens of thousands of students and graduated over 100 yoga teachers.

“We are beyond excited to welcome Pure Prana to the YogaWorks family and are inspired by the amazing community and authentic programming Natasha and her team have built and cultivated over the last 15 years,” said Rosanna McCollough, President and Chief Executive Officer of YogaWorks. “The diversity of Pure Prana’s yoga classes are perfectly aligned with our mission to reach more people through high quality teaching and empower students of all levels, ages and physical abilities in their journey to become healthier and reduce the stress in their lives.”

To maintain continuity of Pure Prana’s programming and operations, YogaWorks will employ the company’s teachers and staff and continue to offer students the same exceptional classes and workshops that are currently scheduled.  In the coming months, Pure Prana’s website and studio name will be rebranded as YogaWorks, as the company continues to build local awareness, and Pure Prana students will soon be able to use their class packages at nearby YogaWorks studios in the Washington, D.C. metro area. Additionally, Pure Prana students will receive one month of free access to MyYogaWorks.com, an online video library of over 1,000 yoga and meditation videos to help people enjoy yoga anytime and anywhere.

“We believe our collaboration with YogaWorks solidifies our community’s continued presence as a local yoga pioneer and will create exciting possibilities for personal growth and community building,” said Ms. Hennessy. “Making yoga accessible is central to our mission and, with YogaWorks’ support and resources, we can empower more people to lead more balanced lives through the joy and benefits of this ancient healing practice.”
