Valsoft Acquires Aldata Software Management Inc.

MONTREAL, Sept. 27, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Valsoft, a Montreal-based corporation specialized in the acquisition and development of vertical market software companies, is pleased to announce its acquisition of ALDATA Software Management Inc. (ALDATA), a leader in business software solutions for the forestry industry.

Founded in 1991 by Mike Meagher, an Alberta logging contractor, ALDATA’s end-to-end software suite for managing raw material supply chains was built upon the insights gained over two decades of serving forestry companies. From industry-specific contract management to streamlined scale management and automated pay processing, ALDATA’s systems are reputed for improving the operations of pulp mills, sawmills, timber managers, pellet producers and bioenergy plants across North America and Australia.

“I started ALDATA 26 years ago because there just wasn’t any software available to manage the unique business needs of the forestry industry,” explained Meagher, founder and CEO of ALDATA. “I’ve been proud to see our software grow and adapt to make it easier for our customers, large and small, to take charge of their systems and data. I was sincerely pleased to have ALDATA join Valsoft’s team because they share our long-term commitment and passion to help our clients reach their objectives through innovation and service.”

“We see ALDATA as a trusted technology partner in the forestry sector with a strong market share and a culture of putting the client first,” said Stephane Manos, Co-founder and head of M&A at Valsoft. “Prior to the acquisition, I was impressed to see how a relatively small company had already succeeded at serving some of the largest players in its niche, and was convinced that Valsoft’s resources would empower ALDATA to expand even further.”

Sam Youssef, Valsoft’s CEO announced that Mike Meagher would progressively shift his focus to sales and stay on as ALDATA’s valued advisor during the transition period to ensure a seamless integration. ALDATA’s key personnel will remain in place to provide ongoing expert service and support to its customers.

The acquisition of ALDATA is Valsoft’s second foray into the industrial software sector. In May 2017, Valsoft acquired Creative Information Systems (CIS), a powerhouse in scale management software for aggregates, recycling, waste management, and agricultural industrial applications. “Each of our companies continues to run independently, while leveraging Valsoft’s know-how, skills and contacts to carve an edge in industrial applications, particularly in scale management software,” concluded Manos. “It is an extremely exciting sector, ripe with opportunity, in which we plan to invest tens of millions of dollars in the near future.”
