Six Leading Broadband Companies Named 2017 Calix Innovation Award Winners


Five innovative service providers and one Calix partner honored at record-breaking 2017 Calix ConneXions

LAS VEGAS, Nov. 01, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Calix, Inc. (NYSE:CALX) today announced the winners of the 2017 Calix Innovation Awards. The innovation awards winners were honored at the record-breaking Calix ConneXions Innovation and User Conference this week. For the seventh consecutive year, the Calix Innovation Awards were given to Calix customers who demonstrated outstanding creativity when leveraging Calix technology to deploy best-in-class services. The award recognizes innovation in the use of access, premises, and cloud technologies to transform businesses and networks. New to the program this year was the recognition of an outstanding Calix partner who has been instrumental in driving new innovations and efficiencies for Calix customers.

The 2017 Calix Innovation Award winners are:

Calix ConneXions Reaches New Heights with Record Attendance

While the Calix Innovation Awards were once again a highlight of the event, Calix ConneXions reached new heights as the industry’s leading educational conference with more than 1900 registrants. This year’s conference presented many new educational opportunities including the expansion of training classes and breakout workshops to more than 80 hours of sessions. In addition, the Broadband Forum hosted the Broadband Access Summit Event (BASE) at the Encore Las Vegas. The event, held before Calix ConneXions, featured speakers from AT&T, Verizon, and other leading service providers from around the world.

The Calix ConneXions keynote presentations featured leaders from across the communications industry including Calix president and CEO Carl Russo, Light Reading’s Ray Le Maistre, and Verizon’s vice president of network planning Lee Hicks. During Monday’s keynote session, Calix introduced EXOS, the first carrier class software premises operating system designed to help service providers deliver a managed experience for the smart home and business, master complexity for subscribers, and create massive new revenue streams. Tuesday’s keynotes featured presentations by innovative service providers, such as CenturyLink, NCTC, SandyNet, and South Central Communications who have utilized AXOS and Calix Cloud to transform their networks and businesses to find success in their markets.
