The University Challenge Leverage Your Idea presented by the National Bank stimulates the launch of new businesses and creates strong ties between the business community and Montreal Universities. For the past three years, more than 250 students, foreign students and university graduates validated their business ideas during the 24-hour entrepreneurial bootcamp.  The aspiring entrepreneurs – 52% from business schools and 48% from other faculties – learned how to transform an idea into an actual business project, with the help of 60 entrepreneurs and professionals from many of Montreal’s incubators and accelerators.

"National Bank is proud to lend its expertise to the next generation of entrepreneurs. It's with this in mind that we've been partnering since the beginning with Fondation Montréal inc., whose mission is to help young entrepreneurs power their ideas," said Stéphane Achard, Senior Vice-President – Commercial Banking, Canada and International, at National Bank. "I'd like to thank all those who took part in the 3rd edition of the Le levier de ton idée contest. You've again shown us many innovative business projects. Keep up the good work!" he added.

This year, more than sixty students had the opportunity to experience the creation of a startup using My Business Model®, a canvas developed by the National Bank to validate a business idea.

The winners will have access to Fondation Montréal inc.’s services for a 1-year period and the possibility to obtain its grant ranging from $5,000 to $30,000.  They will also share many prizes thanks to our partners :  EY, Norton Rose Fulbright, La Gare, JCCM and PME MTL Centre-Est.  The official media partner is Journal de Montréal.
