ACL’s Dan Zitting Named to Business in Vancouver’s Forty Under 40 List

Vancouver, B.C., Dec. 07, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Vancouver-based tech company ACL is pleased to announce that Dan Zitting, their Chief Product Officer, has been recognized by Business in Vancouver on their 2017 Forty Under 40 list. The annual award recognizes B.C.’s most illustrious business icons who demonstrate judgement, leadership and dedication to the community. Today, each winner will be profiled in Business in Vancouver’s print edition.

“It’s really an honour to have been named to Business in Vancouver’s list amongst so many great business minds in this city. When my startup was acquired and we left New York City to join ACL in 2011 I was thrilled to be joining a company that had the talent and technology to change the world,” said Dan Zitting. “What I didn’t expect was what a vibrant and innovative business and technology community Vancouver is more broadly. This is a place that can really foster both a company and a career, and I consider myself exceptionally lucky to have found it and the opportunity to be a part of helping it grow.”

To date, Zitting’s career has been one of entrepreneurship, constant reinvention, and success. He founded Auditconfirmations.com, a SaaS platform for auditors that was acquired in just two years, and co-founded Linford & Company LLP in New York City before founding Workpapers.com, the world’s only cloud-based audit management system, which was acquired by ACL in 2011. Zitting relocated to Vancouver from New York City and to join ACL’s executive team. Alongside CEO Laurie Schultz, he cultivated a “re-start up” mentality within the 30 year-old company by treating the organization as if it was in the early stages of growth, constantly examining how it could be adapted to better serve customers and succeed.

Zitting’s Business in Vancouver award win adds to his already full list of achievements and accolades. He holds multiple degrees and certifications from Colorado State University, the University of Notre Dame and Stanford University. He is the recipient of the EY Canada Alumni Award for Top Alumni Under 40, IA Magazine Emerging Leader Award (2014), CPA Practice Advisor 40 Under 40 (2013, 2012, 2011, and 2010), the 25 Most Influential Young Professionals from ColoradoBiz Magazine (2010),  and the CPA Tech Advisor Reader’s Choice Award for Audit/Engagement Tools (2009). Zitting’s depth of experience, awards, and education have contributed to his recognition as a thought leader in the GRC industry and as such, he has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Corporate Compliance Insights, Bloomberg Briefs, The Street, PYMNTS.com, CBC, The Vancouver Sun, and BC Business.

“Dan’s approach to Strategic Performance and Risk Management has fundamentally changed the way that ACL does business,” said CEO Laurie Schultz. “Dan has inspired ACL’s leaders, employees, and customers to think bigger than ever before about what they and the company can achieve. He’s a cornerstone of not just ACL, but the tech community. Having people like Dan in Vancouver’s tech ecosystem is what’s going to elevate the community to a new level of success and innovation.”

With Zitting’s guidance, ACL has grown to over 7,000 active customers in 140 countries around the globe, including 60% of the Fortune 1000. In the Public Sector, ACL has customers in over 700 local and state governments worldwide, as well as over 200 federal government agencies.
