Konecranes introduces a new overhead crane engineered for the Peruvian market

LIMA, Peru, Jan. 15, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Konecranes CXT UNO is a high-quality standard crane offered at a very attractive price point.

Global lifting leader Konecranes is expanding its product offering in Peru with the CXT UNO, a standard crane targeted to fit the needs of general manufacturing, metalworking and repair facilities supporting the mining industry.

Konecranes has been a top crane supplier in Peru for more than two decades, dominating the technically advanced top end of the lifting market with products emerging from its worldwide R&D. CXT UNO was designed to fit the needs of a more basic customer. Built in a top-running, single-hoist configuration from a selected range of quality Konecranes components, CXT UNO delivers proven technology from a market leader in a more affordable package.

“The CXT UNO combines a strong range of features based on a simpler set of components and technical solutions compared to existing CXT products,” says Jose Palomino, industrial cranes sales representative for Konecranes Peru. “The simpler design, together with easy access to spare parts, means that the CXT UNO will be easy to maintain.”

The CXT UNO includes many of the industry-leading strengths of Konecranes original CXT. Its low-headroom, compact hoist with improved hook approaches expands the footprint the crane can serve, allowing new buildings to be built smaller. This saves money during construction and improves productivity long-term.

CXT UNO is available in lifting capacities up to 12.5 tons. It offers lifting heights up to 12m and spans up to 28m. One notable feature that CXT UNO brings to the table is an energy chain rather than a festoon system, which improves visibility in the work area. It gives the crane a clean, modern look while eliminating a potential safety hazard caused by festoons tangling on obstacles.

CXT UNO also delivers with two radio controls, a primary and a spare, as part of the package. The radio control conveys another important safety benefit, as the operator can control the crane while standing safely away from the load and work area. In areas where seismic activity is a concern, customers have the option to add seismic restraints for crane end carriages to confirm with local code regulations.

“The CXT UNO was designed to be competitively priced while offering the formidable quality and reliability that customers have come to expect from the Konecranes name,” says Palomino. “Our delivery time for this crane is very competitive. Together, these features establish CXT UNO as a significant offering in a new market segment. It’s a quality crane at an affordable price that was engineered to fill a need for customers in Peru.”
