GHT Announces Record Jumbotron Upgrade Orders

HOUSTON, TX, Jan. 30, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --

Houston Global Heat Transfer LLC (“GHT” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce it has received a record number of Jumbotron upgrade orders during the month of January.  GHT’s flagship product, the Jumbotron, is a patent-pending, high-performance radiator engineered specifically for the demands of today’s pressure pumping equipment.  The Jumbotron is proven to dramatically reduce fouling and the associated downtime issues conventional, horizontal radiators have in the field.

“The issues currently confronting the pressure pumping industry are multi-faceted.  On the one hand, you have these huge yards of frac equipment that have been sitting idle for the last three years.  Some of this equipment may return to the field with relatively minor service and repair but the vast majority will require substantial overhauls,” said Randy Vanberg, President of GHT.  “On the other hand, the industry has changed and there has been a step change in radiator technology since most of the North American fleet was built.  Conventional, horizontal radiators are unreliable and significantly more expensive to operate than GHT’s patent-pending, 5th generation, cube-style Jumbotron radiator.”

“When compared to conventional horizontal radiators, the Jumbotron is estimated to provide an annual cost savings of more than $120,000 per unit through the prevention of downtime and repair and maintenance.  With the cost to upgrade at roughly half of the annual cost savings provided, our customers are making the decision that a six-month payback is a pretty good investment,” said Derek Hjorth, Senior Vice President of GHT.  “These Jumbotron upgrades are material when you consider that the annual cost savings are multiplied to more than $2.4 million per fleet if assuming a 20 truck fleet.”

Randy Vanberg said, “Due to the technological benefits and compelling economics of the Jumbotron, we are witnessing unparalleled interest in the implementation of frac radiator upgrade programs.  We value the opportunity to be a true partner with our customers and expect the planning of many of these upgrade programs to be finalized by the end of the first quarter.”
