Albertsons Companies to Launch Market Street Idaho in Two Boise Area Stores

New Boise area store locations will boast a brand-new banner for Treasure Valley customers

BOISE, Idaho, Feb. 07, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- At the groundbreaking ceremony last June for Albertsons Companies’ new Broadway Market location, CEO Bob Miller hinted that Boise shoppers had better ready themselves for a brand-new shopping scene, unlike any other in Idaho. Today, the company is proud to announce that it is creating a culinary experience that invites customers to Eat Life Up with the formal introduction of Market Street Idaho to Treasure Valley shoppers.

“Market Street Idaho was created by a team of passionate, innovative food lovers with the goal of igniting Idaho’s passion for great food and elevated experiences," said Susan Morris, EVP and Chief Operations Officer of Albertsons Companies. “Boise’s deep roots in great local food stem from our farming and ranching industry to our refugee and Basque communities. We think the time is right to bring new culinary experiences many hunger for but haven’t gotten yet locally through our Market Street Idaho stores.”

Promising exclusive culinary delights and unique dishes, the Treasure Valley’s two Market Street Idaho stores will encourage customers to hone their inner chef through in-store culinary events and classes as well as time savers like catering services, an in-store restaurant style food court and other gourmet creations fit for the most discerning customers.

“In our Market Street Idaho store, our dedicated chocolatier might partner with one of our scratch bakers to create an art deco cake for an exclusive event, or our Head of Catering might work with our sommelier and masters in our fresh team to craft an exclusive wine pairing experience with fresh fruits and cheeses. We’re elevating the idea of what a grocery store can be here,” said John Colgrove, president of the company’s Intermountain division. “In addition, we have so many creative culinary positions available. We encourage everyone to follow us Facebook and Instagram as we build this team and create something truly special in the Treasure Valley.”

The Broadway location of Market Street Idaho will open in early summer 2018, and the Meridian location on Eagle & Fairview is planned for later this year. Store Director Brian Conley has been selected to operate the Broadway Market Street Idaho store, which ultimately is expected to employ more than 200 people. The West Boise location will name a store director later this summer, in time to curate the anticipated staff of more than 300 people. In order to complete the new Market Street Idaho store on Broadway Avenue, the company will close the existing Broadway store in early April. Employees will be offered opportunities in surrounding stores and may apply for positions at the new store once hiring begins. Those interested in pursuing employment can submit resumes to hr@marketstreetidaho.com.
