Peter Dinsdale, President & CEO of YMCA Canada, Appointed to Order of Ontario


TORONTO, Feb. 27, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Board of Directors of YMCA Canada is pleased to congratulate Peter Dinsdale, President and CEO, on his appointment to the Order of Ontario, the province's highest and most prestigious honour. The award recognizes individuals whose exceptional achievement in their field have left a lasting legacy in the province, in Canada and beyond.

Upon welcoming Peter as a member of the Order of Ontario, Her Honour the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, noted that he has “devoted his life to improving the lives of Indigenous peoples and supporting reconciliation.”

A proud Anishinaabe community leader, Peter has worked extensively throughout his career to enhance the quality of life of the people and communities he has served. Not content to rest on past successes, Peter still has many goals he aims to achieve.

Since joining YMCA Canada as President and CEO in 2016, Peter has furthered the organization’s unique ability and role in building safe and vibrant communities. With the launch of a new strategic plan, Plan Y: Expedition, he is focused on enabling, supporting and strengthening YMCAs so they can provide opportunities for all to belong to an inclusive community.
