F.I.R.S.T. Institute Celebrates 14 Years of Academic Excellence

ORLANDO, Fla., March 07, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- F.I.R.S.T. Institute is proud to announce its 14th anniversary as a licensed and accredited technical school. Students have access to several different academic programs for ultimate career success, including: Recording Arts & Show Production, Digital Filmmaking & Video Production and Graphic Design & Web Development.

After 14 years of academic excellence, F.I.R.S.T. is still going strong as a higher learning institution. The Orlando-based school receives rave reviews from both current students and alumni, who credit the institution with helping advance their careers in web development, graphic design, filmmaking and live show and music production.

F.I.R.S.T. Institute Graduate Spotlights

Samisoni "Big Makk" Koroitamudu was a famous Orlando DJ and music producer before he was killed tragically in a car crash on August 29, 2016. He graduated from the music production program at F.I.R.S.T., which he credited with teaching him the fundamentals needed to compete in the music industry as a producer.

Big Makk called this a “great school” because of the hands-on experience he gained while learning in small class sizes. He made his own mark in the local Orlando community as a DJ. But, it was the knowledge and skills he learned at F.I.R.S.T. that made him an international star. The technical school is currently working with the DJ’s mother to sponsor a music school scholarship in Big Makk’s honor.

Kenneth Brown is a F.I.R.S.T. Institute graduate who developed his own online platform for independent artists and entrepreneurs called My City Mondays. He credits the small class sizes with helping him become a successful developer. Brown says such settings allowed him to get one-on-one instruction when he needed it most.

According to Brown, graphic design and web development are for creative minds and creative thinkers. F.I.R.S.T. helped him tap into his creativity to transform his dreams into realities.

Rina Weems graduated from the music production program at F.I.R.S.T. Institute. She calls the program straight-forward, because you get to do what you actually came to do... make music. Weems credits the hands-on approach to teaching with helping her turn her passion into a lucrative career.

When asked what her favorite part of the program was, Weems told reporters it’s the connections that are created between the students and the instructors. Everyone has a way of motivating students, which keeps them excited about learning.

AC the Gift is a graduate of the recording arts program at F.I.R.S.T. Although he grew up in a musical family, the Orlando music producer credits the school with helping him take his skills to magnitudes he’d never imagined.

He was asked what he liked most about the music production school. AC the Gift said it was the smaller classroom sizes, hands down. This gave him the confidence he needed to ask questions in class, and work in a hands-on environment, intimidation free. Smaller classes also helped him create valuable bonds with fellow students and instructors that he still networks with today.
