Final Deadline Reminder for Businesses Seeking NRCan Funding for EV Fast-Charging Stations

TORONTO, March 07, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Meo Electric is a turnkey provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, specializing in helping businesses take advantage of government funding opportunities. Meo Electric is issuing a final deadline reminder for businesses seeking NRCan funding for installing fast-charging stations.

Retail, food services, convenience and property management businesses interested in fast-charging are encouraged to contact Meo Electric by March 15, 2018. NRCan funding combined with Meo Electric’s flexible financing is a unique opportunity for businesses to reduce the upfront cost of fast-charging stations by up to 90%.

The Government of Canada’s 2017 budget announced $80 million in federal funding for the Electric Vehicle and Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Deployment Initiative. The initiative is run by Natural Resources Canada and covers up to 50% of the cost to purchase and install fast-charging stations.

The program provides $50,000 per fast-charging station and a maximum of $5 million in funding to a single applicant.

"These investments support the ingenuity of Canadian electric vehicle and alternative fuel companies. Green infrastructure is paving the way to a low-carbon future in both commercial and consumer markets,” said Jim Carr, Canada's Minister of Natural Resources.

Meo Electric is a turnkey service provider. Meo works with leading hardware providers (FLO, ChargePoint, ABB), and certified electrician partners across Canada to provide a worry-free experience for businesses deploying EV charging.

“For those new to EV charging, getting funding and deploying stations can be intimidating,” said Zachary Lefevre, President of Meo Electric. “It’s unfair to place the burden of selecting hardware, vetting installers, and choosing a service provider on the shoulders of business owners and managers who have to focus on their core businesses. We plug in to help businesses seamlessly deploy EV charging stations. Our goal is to make the process simple and transparent while providing the best outcomes for both EV drivers and station hosts.”
