MONTREAL, March 22, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ground Induced Polarization (IP) helped DIOS EXPLORATION (TSX-V:DOS) define chargeable drill targets in non-outcropping bush covered fold nose area on AU33 gold project, James Bay Eeyou Istchee, Quebec, 10 km east of Heberto Gold Discovery and CLN recent drilling.
DIOS hit several mineralized zones by drilling IP chargeability anomalies in fold hinge area, a fit with presumed folded magnetic tonalite horizons. Prospective mineralized rock types were intersected by drilling: altered white tonalite horizons with disseminated pyrite and tourmaline intruding folded volcanics; pink potassic feldspar and silica altered tonalite with disseminated pyrite; silica altered diorite with disseminated pyrite; mineralized silicified gabbros and mineralized basalts with disseminated pyrite. GOLD IS DIRECTLY ASSOCIATED WITH DISSEMINATED PYRITE ON AU33 PROJECT and TOURMALINE for the first time discovered is a known association for high grade gold (as on Clearwater gold deposit some 20 km east also with gold associated with pyrite as in many deposits in Abitibi and worldwide).
A group of unexplained strong gold-in-till anomalies (576, 619, 1255, 1390, 2090 ppb gold in heavy mineral concentrates, at the head of a 20 km long gold-bearing glacial dispersal train) is located some 8 km up ice of Heberto Gold discovery and a local source was strongly suspected by DIOS’ geologists. DIOS’ AU33 wholly-owned gold property without any royalties is located 55 km south of Goldcorp Eleonore gold mine and 20 km west of Clearwater gold deposit.
