US Payments Forum Provides More EMV Chip Implementation Guidance with Resource to Assist in Identifying and Troubleshooting Transaction Issues

PRINCETON JUNCTION, N.J., April 03, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In order to continually advance the quality of chip card acceptance and payment processing in the U.S., the U.S. Payments Forum has introduced new tools for collecting transaction and error data. The new tools are practical resources designed to assist merchants and issuers in gathering sufficient information and enabling consistent communications with processing partners.

“Many merchants and issuers today are continuing to fine-tune their implementations of chip. The U.S. Payments Forum is working to streamline processes and address issues by providing actionable guidance and resources,” said Randy Vanderhoof, director of the U.S. Payments Forum. “These new tools will assist issuers, issuer processors, merchants, acquirers and acquiring processors by guiding them to gather sufficient information in consistent ways.”

The forms:

  • Can be used to identify data needed for troubleshooting and to communicate the data among payment processing partners
  • Are provided as Microsoft Word documents to allow stakeholders to use and edit the forms to best meet their needs

Other U.S. chip technology implementation and education resources created by the Forum can be found at www.emv-connection.com.
