Illinois Women in Cannabis Hosting “An Evening with Congressman Earl Blumenauer,” the Leading Champion of Cannabis Reform

Proceeds to Benefit Congressman’s Cannabis PAC

Chicago, April 04, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Illinois Women in Cannabis (IWC), a nonprofit organization founded by Green Thumb Industries (GTI) Chief Compliance Counsel Dina Rollman, is hosting an event featuring Congressman Earl Blumenauer (D-Oregon), the nation’s leading champion of ending marijuana prohibition.  The event – open to all interested in the cannabis movement -- will take place at Hubbard Inn, 110 West Hubbard Street in Chicago, on April 9 from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm.  The $20 donation per ticket includes a drink and light appetizers with all net proceeds going directly to the Congressman’s cannabis-focused PAC.

“Congressman Blumenauer is one of the most influential cannabis reform advocates in the country,” says Rollman. “It’s an honor for IWC to host this event and to give our guests the opportunity to hear him speak about the harm caused by cannabis prohibition. I’m also thrilled GTI is serving as a sponsor of the event, and that the Congressman will meet with our staff at GTI headquarters for a discussion of the critical issues facing the industry.”

Those interested in attending the event can purchase tickets at https://secure.actblue.com/donate/blumenauer_iwc or at the door the night of the event.  In addition to IWC and GTI, sponsors for the event include Cresco Labs, Pharmacann, Mueller, and Ataraxia.

“I look forward to meeting with like-minded cannabis advocates in Illinois,” says Congressman Blumenauer. “It's time for us to enter a new era of marijuana policy, for research, protecting our children, economic development and individual liberties. Keeping marijuana illegal at the federal level continues an outdated, failed approach—leaving patients and marijuana businesses trapped between state and federal laws."
