DORADO, Puerto Rico, April 17, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Green Spirit Industries Inc. (OTCPink:GSRX) (“Green Spirit” or, the “Company”), through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Project 1493 LLC, has received Notice of Prequalification License for Medicinal Cannabis Establishment to be located at A-15 Acacia Street, Lomas Verdes Intersection, Bayamón, Puerto Rico 00756, from the Government of Puerto Rico Health Department. The Company plans to develop the location to do business as a Green Spirit RX medicinal cannabis dispensary, subject to all inspections, and issuance of the requisite establishment license by the Government of Puerto Rico Health department.
Bayamón, Puerto Rico’s second-largest municipality and a major shopping destination, is part of the large metropolitan area centered on San Juan and is home of the Puerto Rico FC of the North American Soccer League, who play at Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium. Bayamón’s Parque de las Ciencias is a popular tourist attraction; the science-themed park is the only place, outside of the United States, where NASA rockets and parts are exhibited.
Earlier this month, Green Spirit announced the opening of the first Green Spirit RX medicinal cannabis dispensary in Puerto Rico, located in Dorado (Green Spirit RX Dorado). The Company currently has five other locations in various stages of preparation on the island; one in Carolina, one in Fajardo, one in Isla Verde, and two in San Juan.
During the first quarter of 2018, Green Spirit announced its entry into California’s cannabis cultivation and extraction business via a joint venture with Sunset Connect SF Inc. (Sunset Connect), as well as its acquisition of a majority stake in California-based cannabinoid products manufacturer Spirulinex, LLC. (Spirulinex). Earlier this month, the Company announced its acquisition of The Green Room (The Green Room) a cannabis dispensary and delivery operation located in Point Arena, Mendocino County, California.
