EMERYVILLE, Calif., May 15, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Industry professionals will gather to discuss the issues affecting women today in the mortgage industry at the Boston Women’s Mortgage Leadership Roundtable on June 7, 2018 at the Granite Links Golf Course in Quincy, MA. The free event is being sponsored by National MI, a subsidiary of NMI Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq:NMIH) a California-based private mortgage insurer, along with Accenture.
In addition to hosting, Claudia Merkle, National MI’s President and winner of HousingWire’s 2017 Vanguard Award, will be participating in a discussion about the importance of building effective mentoring relationships. “Finding a trusted source, someone you feel you can truly talk to, is extremely important to becoming a strong leader,” says Merkle.
The event, which begins with a luncheon at 11:00am, also includes co-keynote speakers - nationally recognized executive coach Diane Ripstein and Sarah Valentini, co-founder and president at radius financial group inc. Ripstein will be offering presentation skills advice tailored to women in her “Slaying the Presentation Dragon: How to Sound as Smart as You Are” session. Valentini will share her insights with “Leadership Lessons from the Board.”
Cultural Outreach Solutions Founder Kristin Messerli will offer advice and tips on how organizations can empower young female leaders. Cultural Outreach Solutions specializes in helping companies in the mortgage industry achieve diversity in their workforce and customer base.
Dana Wasson, senior manager at Accenture, and a 30-year mortgage veteran, as well as a published author in Mortgage Women Magazine and a member of the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women (NAPMW), will speak on how the power of happiness plays a role in women “getting to equal” in the workforce . She says, “Women have long been the backseat drivers in many industries, including mortgage. It is fantastic to see National MI raising a forum to openly discuss the empowerment of women in our industry.”
