Academy of Art University Showcases Top Student Art and Design Talent at 2018 Spring Show

San Francisco, CA, May 15, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Academy of Art University’s 2018 Spring Show officially opens on Thursday, May 17, 2018, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., to showcase the finest student work from the Academy’s emerging talents in all areas of art and design.

Industry leaders and recruiters, along with fellow students and local community members, are all welcome and invited to join in this annual celebration of the Academy’s pursuit for creative excellence.

Taking place at 2225 Jerrold Avenue, Spring Show is an immersive artistic experience where viewers can see firsthand how a formal education from a top San Francisco art school can help turn a passion into a profession. From paintings and sculptures to fully developed video games and car models, there is no shortage of talent on display.

The final pieces of student work will remain on display daily starting Friday, May 18, until June 9 (except Sundays and holidays) from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Attendees will not only get to explore a collection of some of the freshest, most innovative creations from the Academy’s more than 30 areas of study, but also learn why many Academy graduates go on to professional careers working for worldwide industry-leading companies. Most of the artists selected to have their art and designs showcased are at the senior and graduate level.

Some of the participating Academy schools include Animation and Visual Effects, Fine Art, Illustration, Industrial Design, Jewelry and Metal Arts, Motion Picture and Television, Music Production & Sound Design for Visual Media, Photography, and Visual Development.

“For many students, it’s the culmination of years of hard work by extremely talented graduate and undergraduate students,” Academy President Elisa Stephens said. “The experience every year is truly unforgettable.”

To help visitors get to Spring Show easily, the Academy will provide daily complimentary shuttle service from 180 New Montgomery Street at Howard Street. Shuttles will loop every hour between the showcase and 180 New Montgomery Street.

For those driving to the shuttle, the nearest parking garage to the pickup point is the 5th and Mission Parking Garage.
