Sonatype Named Technology Company of the Year by Maryland Tech Council

FULTON, MD, May 18, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sonatype, the leader in automated open source governance and DevSecOps, is proud to announce that it has been named Technology Company of the Year by the Maryland Tech Council (MTC), Maryland’s largest technology trade group.

The honor was announced on May 17 at the organization’s 30th Anniversary Industry Awards Celebration which took place in College Park, Md. The event recognizes the technology, life sciences, and health IT companies and individuals in the Washington, DC region who are making a difference, and is one of the largest and most distinguished awards ceremonies in Maryland.

“To win this prestigious award is testament to our incredible employees and their relentless quest to deliver new innovations and strong value to our thousands of customers,” said Wayne Jackson, CEO of Sonatype. “Maryland and the DC region have a long history of producing great technology companies so winning this award is a true honor.”

The distinction follows an outstanding Q1 2018 for Sonatype, where the company recorded 105 percent year-over-year sales growth and an 131 percent growth in applications using its software. Earlier this year, Sonatype was also named an IDC Innovator by the International Data Corporation and was deemed the Best Open Source DevOps Tool by Computing Magazine.
