TICKETCITY IS NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS TO 5TH ANNUAL COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Scholarship to award $3,000 in financial assistance; program celebrates college students who best explain how their favorite game-day tradition creates an experience much more memorable than an ordinary sporting event

Austin, Texas, May 23, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- TicketCity, the largest privately held ticketing company in the world, is now accepting applications for the 2018-2019 TicketCity Annual College Scholarship Program. The scholarship provides the opportunity for college student sports fans to receive $3,000 in financial assistance that can be used toward tuition or any educational expenses of their choosing.

As part of TicketCity’s long history of giving back to its community through various charitable organizations, the company was the first ticket marketplace to develop a scholarship program and continues finding new and innovative ways to give back to the community. The TicketCity Annual Scholarship Program aims to combine the company’s passion for sports and entertainment with its desire to give back by creating a scholarship focused on being a fan.

"College students understand how passion and tradition syndicate to make a sporting event an unforgettable experience," said Randy Cohen, co-founder and CEO of TicketCity. Randy founded TicketCity in 1990, shortly after graduating from The University of Texas at Austin. "I worked my way through college, as did most of our team at TicketCity, so I view this as an opportunity to provide those hard-working students with much needed funds built on a shared passion for college sports."

Eligible college students are invited to submit an essay describing either a sporting event that has impacted their lives, their favorite game-day tradition or the importance of sporting events to the culture of their university. Students who are interested in applying for this scholarship can submit their applications now until December 1, 2018 at www.ticketcity.com/ticketcity-annual-college-scholarship-program.
