The Newly Elected Supervisory Council of Olainfarm Will Continue Development of the  Company

Today, on June 5, at the General meeting of shareholders of JSC Olainfarm a new Supervisory Council was elected for a five-year term. Elected members of the Council are: Signe Baldere-Sildedze; Irina Maligina; Milana Belevica; Ivars Godmanis, Ivars Kalvins.

At the first meeting of the Council Mr; Ivars Kalvins  was elected as the Chairman of the Supervisory Council, but Ms. Milana Belevica became his deputy.

The Shareholders prompted changes to the Council, taking into account the new situation in the structure of the company's owners. Strong industry experts - Chemistry professor Ivars Kalvins, as well as a lecturer and consultant in finance and tax law Milana Belevica,  became members of the newly elected Supervisory Council. The Council will maintain succession, as Ivars Godmanis, the ex-chairman of the Council, will continue to operate.

The commentary of the Council of JSC Olainfarm

“Our goal is to continue to build Olainfarm as the leading Baltic manufacturer of medication, chemical and pharmaceutical products that are well-known and available worldwide. JSC Olainfarm is on the map of the largest investors in our region, and should remain there.

Thanks to late Valerijs Maligins and his team, JSC Olainfarm is among the business leaders in Latvia. It is the Company with high standards of corporate governance and transparency. We greatly appreciate the input of the previous Supervisory Council in achieving the set goals of Olainfarm.

The Council, as a supervisory institution that represents the interests of all shareholders, will continue the pragmatic approach to Company’s governance. The reinforcement of the Council and its competence will ensure the further successful development of JSC Olainfarm and will help to implement future development plans.

In order to maintain and enhance Company's value, our priorities will be guided by three main factors. Firstly, promotion of balanced growth by investing in new product development, research and registration, and strengthening of the Group’s companies. Secondly, we’ll focus on product quality and business efficiency matters, and ongoing integration of new subsidiaries into the Company. Our third priority will be to continue the successful work to ensure the growth of product sales and exports.”

About The Newly Elected Members of Supervisory Council:

Ivars Kalvins
Member of the Latvian Academy of Sciences, professor of chemistry.
Ex- director of the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis and Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis; Head of the Laboratory of Carbohydrate Compounds.  From 2003 – 2006 Member of the Council and Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Council of JSC Olainfarm. He has received several significant Latvian and international awards for professional achievements.

Ivars Godmanis
Member of JSC Olainfarm Supervisory Council since 2016. Ex- member of EU Parliament, Prime Minister of Latvia; Minister of Finance and Minister of Interior. Associate professor at RISEBA , lecturer at University of Latvia and Turība University. Acquired PhD in Physics.

Signe Baldere-Sildedze
HR specialist at JSC Olainfarm. Ex-member of the Council of JSC Olainfarm from 2009-2012. Since 2014, the owner and member of the board of SIA "LOUVRE". She received her education in tourism and hospitality and has been managing the tourism and hospitality related company in Switzerland.

Irina Maligina
Since 2018, member of the board of Olmafarm SIA. Works at Olainfarm Group since 2012. This allowed her to accumulate professional experience in industry. Graduated from the Global Management Master's Program at Regent's Business School in London, UK.

Milana Belevica
Head and owner of SIA "b2b konsultants", as well as lecturer in finance and tax law at Riga Stradins University. More than 20 years of lawyer experience combining academic and practical knowledge in financial and tax law. Degree in law from the University of Latvia; Master's degree in social sciences from the Faculty of Business, Management and Economics at the University of Latvia, as well as a doctoral program in the Law Faculty of Riga Stradins University.
