MONTREAL, June 07, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Disciplinary Council of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec rendered its decision on guilt and sanction in the case of Pierre Turmel, who has been ordered to pay a total of $15,000 in fines. In its decision, the Disciplinary Council also ordered Mr. Turmel to pay all costs in connection with processing the complaint.
Mr. Turmel was found guilty of violating two sections of the Code of Ethics of Engineers for agreeing to pay a benefit, rebate or commission to a political party and participating in a system with the goal of obtaining municipal contracts from the City of Longueuil.
Mr. Turmel’s alleged offences were committed between 2000 and 2004, while he was president of the Groupe Conseil Génipur.

As a reminder, the sanctions imposed by the Disciplinary Council are meant to protect the public by dissuading professionals from repeating offences and by setting an example for other members of the profession.
