Appian Tops The Washington Post’s “Top Workplaces 2018” List

CEO Matt Calkins Receives CEO Leadership Award

RESTON, Va., June 26, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Appian (NASDAQ:APPN) today announced that it earned the #1 position on The Washington Post’s “Top Workplaces 2018” list in the Large Employer category. 341 local organizations qualified for this year’s survey, and 150 employers scored well enough to earn a spot on the 2018 list.

Appian CEO Matt Calkins also received the “2018 CEO Leadership” award. Each year, as part of the survey, The Washington Post asks workers to rate their CEO. The paper then selects the #1 CEO in the Large, Midsize, and Small Employer categories.

“Appian demonstrates what can be done with the resources at-hand in the D.C. area and the right corporate culture,” said Calkins. “We have built Appian by grounding ourselves in value and in respect, which requires allowing employees to define themselves and their potential.”

This is the fifth year that the paper has published the list, which is solely based on employee survey feedback, and it is the fifth year that Appian has been recognized. This year’s survey focused on 24 factors across seven core organizational elements to determine the local organizations that are establishing employee-affirming cultures, delivering high employee engagement and satisfaction, and communicating a clear and compelling company vision.
