Greenbelt Resources Announces Colorado Location Search for Bioethanol Project

Biofuels & Energy distributes request for proposal through regional economic development agencies

PASO ROBLES, Calif., June 26, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Via OTC PR Wire – Greenbelt Resources Corporation (OTC:GRCO) (Greenbelt), the developer of a sustainable ECOsystem model that transforms waste into revenue generating bioproducts, today announced that Biofuels and Energy, LLC (B&E), a New Mexico-based project development company planning to utilize Greenbelt’s proprietary ECOsystem model for its SLV Biopro Project, has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) in search of an appropriate site on which to locate the project in the San Luis Valley region of Colorado.

“We have requested a broad set of criteria in the RFP and have high hopes that several sites in the area will not only meet but exceed our expectations,” said Richard Mason with B&E. “The potential benefits of locating our project in such a robust area as San Luis Valley includes the possibility of having not only the necessary utilities and basic entitlements, but also unique features such as rail access and/or geothermal heat either of which represents potentially significant savings in operational costs.”

“Greenbelt looks forward to supporting B&E with their assessment of proposed locations,” said Greenbelt CEO Darren Eng. “Each unique site consideration helps us to evolve the sophistication of our ECOsystem model in the same way as exploring new feedstocks like duckweed and developing new bioproducts, have expanded and improved future financial viability and sustainability impact of our technology in a variety of ways.”

The RFP has been distributed through a number of regional economic development agencies including but not limited to the Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade, Saguache County Sustainable Environment & Economic Development, and the San Luis Valley Development Resources Group.  The deadline for formal response submissions to the RFP is July 15th, 2018.

SLV Biopro was announced earlier this year as the first of B&E’s projects committed to using Greenbelt’s ECOsystem technology to convert agricultural waste into various biobased products such as bioethanol and high protein animal feed.  Other B&E projects currently in development will be located in New Mexico and Pennsylvania.
