GrowLife, Inc. Initiates Proof-of-Concept Study in Colorado on Efficient Vertical Grow Room Technology

Leading Indoor Cultivation Supplier Launches First-of-its-kind Study on Patent-Pending Vertical Grow System to Achieve High Volume Output at Reduced Production Costs

KIRKLAND, Wash., July 09, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- GrowLife, Inc. (OTCQB:PHOT), one of the nation’s most recognized indoor cultivation product and service providers, today announced that it has initiated a Proof-of-Concept (POC) study through its product development division, GrowLife Innovations (“Innovations”), on its proprietary vertical grow room system in Colorado, the nation’s first legalized adult use cannabis market. The number of adult use cultivation licenses in Colorado has grown nearly 400 percent since 2014, according to data from the state’s Marijuana Enforcement Division.

The indoor cannabis growing facility leverages state-of-the-art technology and design to maximize the amount of plants that can be grown in a cubic space while utilizing technologies that decrease production costs and produce consistent results. A thirteen-week test will evaluate the true production capacity of the system by monitoring cubic volume versus traditional square footage, as well as the overall reduction in costs required to run the facility.

The indoor cannabis growing facility was developed by a team of engineers alongside cannabis industry experts such as master growers and operators. It contains several patent-pending features including Growlife’s FreeFit floor and wall tile for heat transfer which alleviates utility costs incurred from climate controlling the space. Unique to GrowLife's strategy is the ongoing development of proprietary Grow Room control system software designed to collect data and make real-time system corrections to optimize plant health. Preliminary indications show that the cost to grow a gram of cannabis using the system could be as low as 35-50 cents.

“This POC study is an industry first and a huge step forward for GrowLife and our plan to capture and service the burgeoning cannabis industry,” said GrowLife CEO Marco Hegyi. “We are confident this system will perform well throughout this test and eventually become one of the most efficient and intelligent growing systems available in the market. As the industry continues to adjust to regulation, the need for consistent and scalable production facilities will continue to grow. We look forward to sharing to the results of our test and bringing this system to market in the coming months.”

In recent months, the company has committed resources to expanding on its product offering through Innovations. Emerging technologies will play a critical role in the evolution of the indoor plant cultivation industry, which is why GrowLife is committed to creating systems and products that allow customers to remain efficient in their production techniques while producing competitively priced products.
