TORONTO, Aug. 01, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Canada’s largest video game expo returns this fall with Enthusiast Gaming Live Expo (EGLX) scheduled to take place from Friday, October 26th – Sunday October 28th at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. EGLX has hosted the largest and most diverse lineup of games, publishers, sponsors and developers in Canada, with a huge increase in attendees in recent years, culminating in the move to the largest convention facility in Canada. As part of this exciting growth, EGLX will also become the destination for two massive esports events, with the addition of Canada Cup 2018 and World Electronic Sports Games (WESG) both holding tournaments on the show floor.

WESG, operated by WorldGaming Network in partnership with Alisports (a division of Alibaba), is entering its 3rd year as the only Olympics-format esports competition in the world. The WESG Canadian national qualifying finals will be held at EGLX and players will compete in some of the largest esports games in the world (Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), DOTA 2, StarCraft 2 and Pro Evolution Soccer) with the opportunity to represent Canada at the WESG Global Grand Finals in Shanghai in March 2019.
