Chiesi Foundation Onlus Issues 2018 Call for Scientific Research Proposals

Scientists and researchers are invited to submit proposals for Research in neonatology and pulmonology

CARY, N.C., Aug. 14, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Chiesi Foundation Onlus (key-A-zee) announced its 2018 Call for Scientific Research Proposals in the fields of neonatology and pulmonology. The Foundation strongly encourages proposals that advance understanding of these fields through highly productive, collaborative teams with multi-disciplinary expertise.

Founded in 2005, the Chiesi Foundation is a nonprofit organization that leverages the abundant knowledge of Chiesi Farmaceutici to promote health and alleviate suffering among patients affected by chronic respiratory and neonatal diseases. To achieve this mission, the Chiesi Foundation annually grants financial support to projects focused on neonatology and pulmonology scientific research and international cooperation.

“This opportunity will boost the scientific and medical community’s ability to conduct quality research in these important fields,” said Ken McBean, President and Chief Executive Officer of Chiesi USA. “Working in tandem with our Chiesi in the Community corporate social responsibility initiative, the Chiesi Foundation’s Call for Scientific Research Proposals is yet another example of Chiesi’s commitment to leave a lasting impact on the local and global community.”

Neonatology proposals should aim to improve knowledge of factors affecting neonatal disease progression and identify strategies to prevent or minimize long-term consequences, thus ensuring better quality of life for affected babies and their families. Pulmonology proposals should aim to shed light on the interaction between environmental and socioeconomic factors and the respiratory system, as well as foster the communication of scientific messages using digital tools.

The submission deadlines are October 15, 2018, for neonatology and November 15, 2018, for pulmonology. Detailed information on the proposal scope, submission process and grant rules can be found at Chiesi Foundation Call for Research Proposals 2018.

The Chiesi Foundation is a distinct entity from Chiesi USA, therefore, inquiries regarding the Chiesi Foundation and/or the Call for Scientific Research Proposals should be directed to the Chiesi Foundation team at info@chiesifoundation.org.
