Enveil Collaborates with Gemalto to Seamlessly Extend Security Protections for Sensitive Data

Washington, D.C., Aug. 21, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Enveil, the pioneering data security company protecting Data in Use, today announced a technology integration with Gemalto (Euronext NL0000400653 - GTO), the world leader in digital security. The Enveil-Gemalto collaboration advances the boundaries of data security by providing unmatched protection for sensitive data through the addition of Data in Use protection to standard practice at-Rest and in-Transit security solutions, completing the Data Security Triad.

At the core of the collaboration is an integration of SafeNet KeySecure by Gemalto, an industry-leading key management platform, with Enveil’s ZeroReveal™ Compute Fabric, the groundbreaking technology platform protecting data while it is being used or processed. The announced integration enables the seamless deployment of Gemalto’s SafeNet KeySecure for data encryption/decryption, key generation, key storage, and seeding random number generation in order to protect Data at Rest, alongside Enveil’s ZeroReveal™ Compute Fabric Client which is responsible for running queries and analytics to protect Data in Use.

“Sensitive data should be protected at all times and the SafeNet KeySecure enterprise key management platform allows customers to centrally manage encryption keys, keeping sensitive data secure regardless of its location,” said Todd Moore, Senior Vice President, Encryption Solutions at Gemalto. “By integrating this industry-leading capability with Enveil’s innovative capacity to protect data during processing, this collaboration broadens the scope of protection offered to our customers and ensures that their critical data is always secure.”

As a result of the collaboration, SafeNet KeySecure customers can benefit from Enveil’s nation-state level of processing layer protection without making any changes to existing security infrastructure, including KMS, encryption, and storage technologies. Enveil's innovative use of homomorphic encryption to protect data while it's being used eliminates an often-overlooked security gap that occurs when performing operations such as search or analytics that requires data be decrypted, creating points of exposure.

“By focusing solely on eliminating the exposure gap companies face when sensitive data must be decrypted in order to be used, Enveil solves a problem that the market has been chasing for decades,” said Ellison Anne Williams, Founder and CEO of Enveil. “Technology integrations with market leaders like Gemalto allow us to ensure that our product integrates seamlessly, allowing organizations to address their broader security needs in a complimentary manner while maintaining critical boundaries of trust. Both sensitive data and encryption keys should stay in your possession at all times – this collaboration makes your data safer without sacrificing that control.”

Requiring no changes to the underlying architecture or storage technologies, Enveil works alongside an organization’s existing protections to secure data throughout the processing lifecycle. Organizations can avoid compliance pitfalls and take advantage of the cost savings achieved through the use of cloud resources and third-party data sources with the confidence of Enveil’s Never Decrypt security posture. The collaboration with Gemalto is part of Enveil’s Technology Alliance Program aimed at extending Data at Use security protections across the industry.
