Cherwell Named a Leader in Enterprise Service Management by Independent Analyst Firm

The assessment notes that “Cherwell Service Management has emerged as one of the strongest new players in the ESM space, rapidly building a loyal user base.”

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Aug. 27, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cherwell Software, LLC (“Cherwell”), a global leader in service management, was named as a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: Enterprise Service Management, Q3 2018. According to Forrester Research’s evaluation, Cherwell achieved the highest scores possible in the execution road map and commercial/pricing model criteria.

For this Enterprise Service Management (ESM) report, the independent firm analyzed innovation in technology providers’ expanding IT Service Management (ITSM) capabilities, managing demand and supply through a service app store and portfolio, ability to speed up workflow through PaaS/low-code development and active engagement of the ESM market.

In its assessment of the Cherwell Service Management platform, Forrester noted that “Cherwell boasts one of the most capable low/no-code platforms for service and workflow design. It also has established ITSM capabilities; dedicated project and portfolio management (PPM); security, facilities, and HR modules; and strong data governance and compliance functionality.”

“We think that Forrester’s Wave report reinforces the growing significance of enterprise-wide service management and automation that was part of the original vision of Cherwell,” Cherwell CEO Sam Gilliland said. “While ITSM has been Cherwell’s core business for more than a decade, we are thrilled to be recognized as a leader in Forrester’s evaluation and, in our opinion, driving the broader set of digital transformation activities across the customers we serve. No matter the scope of our customers’ digital initiatives, we are committed to empowering them to innovate quickly and effectively.”

The new Forrester report also stated that Cherwell boasts one of the most capable low/no-code platforms for service and workflow design, while also citing that “…some (ESM tools), including Cherwell Software, are quite sophisticated and capable of supporting complex processes with their own dedicated data structures and GUI interfaces.”

Cherwell believes that its position as a leader in this report reflects the company’s strategic planning, customer focus, and surging momentum in the broader service management category, estimated to be a $30 billion market by 2020. And Cherwell is backed by KKR, which has invested nearly a quarter-billion dollars in Cherwell, including $172 million in April 2018 to build upon that momentum. As part of its commitment to delivering a full Enterprise Service Management solution to its customers, Cherwell acquired Tampa, Florida (US)-based Advanced Marketplace (AMP) in December 2016 to expand the company’s capability beyond ITSM and deliver new enterprise solutions, such as Project & Portfolio Management.

Cherwell will share more about its commitments to further improvements of its ESM solution at the upcoming Cherwell Global Conference, Sept. 18-20.
