Help animals in need at the Ontario SPCA’s Friends for Life! Walk™ Presented by Petplan®


STOUFFVILLE, Ontario, Sept. 10, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society is asking animal lovers of all ages to help change the lives of animals in need, one step at a time, at its Friends for Life! Walk™ presented by Petplan® pet insurance.

The Friends for Life! Walk will take place in 13 communities across Ontario over the weekend of Sept. 22-23. Funds raised support programs and services provided by Ontario SPCA Animal Centres and participating Humane Societies across Ontario. There is also a “virtual” walk option for those unable to attend an event in person.

“The Friends for Life! Walk is a fun way for you to give back to your community by helping animals in need,” says Tonya Martin, Director, Community Programming, Ontario SPCA. “Even if you don’t have a pet, we encourage you to register now and start raising funds for your local Ontario SPCA Animal Centre or Humane Society.”

More than just a fundraising walk, the Friends for Life! Walk is a fun-filled day that offers something for everyone. From barbecues and live music, to pet vendors and activities for the kids, each walk location has its own unique attractions and activities. It’s the purr-fect way to spend a day with friends and family who share a love of animals.

“We can’t do this alone, which is why we need you to go the extra mile to help vulnerable animals,” says Martin. “By participating in the Friends for Life! Walk and collecting pledges, you are giving vulnerable animals the care and second chance they deserve.”
