KEMP, Texas, Sept. 14, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Industrial lighting expert, Larson Electronics LLC, released a compact, portable LED flashlight rated for Class I, Divisions 1 & 2 and Class II, Divisions 1 & 2 hazardous locations that is capable of illuminating distances up to 383 feet. The MSHA-rated mining flashlight is battery powered and features air-free heat sink and a lockable on/off switch to prevent unwanted activation.
The EXP-LED-401-MSHA intrinsically safe LED flashlight offers high intensity illumination for mining sites, gas processing facilities and other hazardous locations. This flashlight supports three beam settings: low, high and flash. The low setting emits 62 lumens reaching 272 feet with a 13-hour runtime, high emits 157 lumens reaching 383 feet with 6.15 hours of runtime, and the flash emits 157 lumens reaching 383 feet, also with 6.15 hours of runtime.
The EXP-LED-401-MSHA comes with several safety including an air-free heat sink design, which helps to improve heat dissipation during operation, thus reducing potential overheating malfunctions, as well as a special valve design that prevents the buildup of hydrogen gas.
Most importantly, this flashlight is MSHA rated - tested for intrinsic safety in environments with methane-air mixtures only – and is also ATEX/IECEx approved and holds an IP68 waterproof rating with a T4 temperature code.
