RAK Petroleum plc: Resignation from Board of Directors

RAK Petroleum plc, the Oslo-listed oil and gas investment company, today announced that Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad has resigned from its Board of Directors effective immediately, following his appointment as the US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation.

"RAK Petroleum has greatly benefited from Ambassador Khalilzad's contributions over many years, drawing from his decades of success in diplomacy and commanding knowledge of geopolitical affairs. We are grateful for his good counsel, dedication and service and wish him great success in his new role with the US Government," said Bijan Mossavar-Rahmani, Executive Chairman of RAK Petroleum plc.

Following Ambassador Khalilzad's departure, the Company's Board of Directors consists of five members.
